We had some very pretty days out on the ocean for our last few trips. All the trips we ran over the last few days were Tog trips, and the fishing was pretty decent. Not drop and reel, but the kinda fishing that if you worked it you were rewarded. Our largest fish over the last few days was Jeff’s 13 which was released. We had 7 DD for 4 trips. Releasing the ones that were healthy enough to go back. Crews have been great about our boat rule of 3 fish per person. Hopefully small Steps like this will pay off in the future. We are still seeing some SeaBass on our inshore Tog trips, as the water is still pretty warm, so by the end of the day there’s plenty of fillets to take home. Kevin and I are taking the day off today, but will be back at it tomorrow. Capt DJ should start back running a few trips next week.
We have been getting a few trips in around the weather. Capt Kevin has had the Double Trouble while Capt DJ is away at school. Kevin reported excellent SeaBass fishing with boat limits on every trip. Once there bass limit was achieved the groups have been working the Fluke, with decent catches of them up to 7 pounds this week. I have had the helm of the Fish Bound, focusing on the toothy critters. Our water still remains very warm for this time of year 62 as of yesterday. Still our Tog fishing has been decent with guys boxing their 3 per man boat rule limit, and Tossing a few back. John, and (Farmer) Kevin had our 2 nicest Tog of the week both at over 18 pounds. Kevin’s released fish was 31” long and John’s was 31 3/4” long. There were 4 other DD fish landed this week with a 13 pound Tag recapture. Any of the big Tog that were healthy enough to be released were. We also had a surprise showing of Tackle busting Sheep up to 15 pounds, which are always a blast. Still seeing a few Bass on our Tog trips, but they are starting to push out. Keep a eye on the boats Facebook page, I’ll post when our groups need a spot or two filled. Thanks Guys!! ... Stud Fluke, Monster Bass, and Tog to 11 pounds released. Both boats have been busy the last few days. Capt Kevin, and Capt DJ had the Double Trouble out chasing SeaBass, and Fluke. All there trips saw boat limits of nice SeaBass, and Fluke up to 9 pounds. I was at the helm of the Fish Bound chasing Tog. Water has been very warm for this time of year 64 degrees on the surface, but we have been able to catch a few nice Tog, and plenty of Bass on our Tog trips. Every trip we have managed our 3 per person, and lots of Bass to make some nice Fresh Fish Dinners. The action with them should get even better as water temps start to cool. Thanks Guys ... SeaBass, and Tog have been the focus over the last few days. SeaBass fishing remains excellent, for the groups that want to fill the Freezer. Boat limits on every trip. For the groups that want the challenge, we have started to chase a few Tog. Definitely not a hot chew yet, as water temps are still very warm for this time of year. Some nice fish in the mix, with a 19, 16, 11, and 10 pounders topping the list. Still seeing a few bass on the Tog trips, so between the two guys have had plenty of fresh fish for a fish Fry. Please remember we have a 3 tog per person boat rule. We want to do everything in our power to keep these crafty critters around for future generations. Thanks Guys!! ... See MoreSee Less
